Small-batch screen printing · Missoula, Montana
Wolves, lodgepole ridges and a low moon, printed one garment at a time in soft water-based ink. Each drop is small and numbered, and every piece is listed with its weight, fit and price.

One print room and one press. Every squeegee stroke on every shirt is pulled here.
Each design is drawn in-house and released as a short, numbered run.
The ink settles into the cotton instead of sitting on it like a rubbery patch.
We print our own drawings only, never a company mark or someone else’s crest.

Thick ring-spun jersey that keeps its shape after a summer of trail days. Each carries original wolf and pine artwork, pulled through fine mesh so the linework stays crisp.
Brushed-back fleece with room for two prints: a small mark on the chest and a full ridgeline across the back. Ribbed cuffs and hem keep the warmth in on the walk out.
A deep-cuffed beanie in a tight rib, finished with a woven label stitched into the fold, so there is nothing printed on it to wear thin.
Every design runs as a short, numbered edition. When enough people write in about a sold-out piece, we coat a fresh screen and print it again as a new drop.
Add wrapping and your piece leaves folded in recycled kraft paper tied with cotton twine, with no price slip inside, ready to hand over.
How we work
Wolfsong Wear is a small print shop in Missoula, Montana. Our designs start as pencil drawings made after evening walks above town: the shape a ridge takes when the light goes, a lodgepole stand against a pale sky, the tracks a canine leaves along a creek bed in snow. Those drawings get inked, cleaned up and separated into one or two colors, because screen printing rewards bold shapes and as few layers as possible.
Each color gets its own screen. We coat the mesh with photo emulsion, expose the artwork onto it and wash out the open areas so ink can pass through. On the press, the screens are lined up by hand until the registration is tight; then every garment gets a flood stroke to fill the mesh and a firm squeegee pull to lay the ink down. Water-based ink sinks into the cotton fibers, so the print breathes and softens with wear instead of cracking. Each piece then rides through a conveyor dryer until the ink is fully cured, and we wash-test a garment from every run before a drop goes on sale.
Orders are packed in the same room the printing happens in. You choose your pieces on the order page, we check that your size is on the shelf and send a secure payment link by email, and the parcel goes out once payment clears, usually within two to four business days.
What we turn down matters as much. We do not print other people’s logos, team names or company marks, and we never put borrowed characters or band artwork on a garment. We do not sell wholesale below the size of a full drop, and for now we only ship to addresses inside the United States. That keeps the shop small enough that every shirt still passes through the same pair of hands.

Questions we hear
Tees and crewnecks are cut true to size with a slightly boxy body; if you like a closer fit, go one size down. Hoodies run roomy on purpose so a layer fits underneath. Each product page lists chest width and body length for every size, measured flat, so you can lay a shirt you already own on the floor and compare.
Water-based ink becomes part of the fabric rather than a layer on top, so there is nothing stiff to split. Wash inside out in cold water, tumble low or hang to dry, and the print will fade gently over years the way a well-loved shirt should, instead of peeling.
Not automatically. Every drop is a numbered run, and when it sells through it is gone. If enough people ask for a design, we burn a fresh screen and bring it back as a new drop. Leave a note in the message box on the order page and we will put your name on the list for that design.
Not yet. We ship to every state, Alaska and Hawaii included, but customs paperwork and cross-border returns are more than a small print room can handle well right now. When that changes, the shipping page will say so first.
Yes. Send unworn, unwashed pieces back within 30 days of delivery and we will refund you or swap the size. The returns page explains who covers postage and how fast the money comes back.
No. We only print artwork drawn in our own studio, so we do not take custom jobs, logo runs or team shirts. That is a choice rather than a capacity problem: it keeps every drop original and every screen ours.

When a drop is gone it is gone. The order form lists every piece with its price, and we confirm by email exactly what is on the shelf.
