Ranger-Men's Gallatin Suede
The Ranger Gallatin is a good pac boot and is a great value. They have a removable foam liner that is warm and light and many people love them. I would personally replace the liner with one of our wool felt liners for long-term wear, but replacing the liner with real wool felt is the first thing I do with every pair of boots I have owned in the past 10 years. These have decent rubber, good traction, a quality leather upper and should work great for many years. They are rated about -60F, which means they are good down to a little below zero. They are lighter weight than the Sorel boots that I have and the toe area is roomier. The price is also about 2/3 of the Sorels and these are just as good or better. With our wool felt liners, these would make an excellent winter boot and work really well as is.
